About
26 years. No shortcuts.
I started as a field inspector in the Bay Area in 1998 and have been here ever since. My Class A HCAI license (A20701) covers the full scope of hospital and healthcare construction inspection — which is why the state-mandated projects end up with me.
I'm one of 324 licensed Inspectors of Record in California. The state has roughly 5,000 Type-1 HCAI facilities. Those numbers tell you something about supply and demand.
The work I do is unglamorous but consequential. I'm on the site before the crew arrives and after they leave. I catch problems when they're still cheap to fix. That's the job.
"Part of the solution, not part of the problem."
